It's been more than a month that I am posted in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as an intern and have seen so many babies being delivered. I had never cared to go and see the baby after delivery as there wasn't much time. Today, however there was just one woman in labor and the baby she delivered grabbed my attention. A baby girl so chubby and healthy (weighing 3.7 kgs) came into this world. And I was so excited and went to see the baby while her mother was being sutured for episiotomy given. This man comes into the room standing still almost a metre away from the baby not knowing what to do, how to react, just standing. I was like does this really happen in reality? I had just seen this in movies! I asked him to come near and take the baby in his arms. He refused to take her at first but I gave her. He was just staring at her, so happy and overjoyed. He was her maternal uncle. He made a video call to the baby's father so that father and her 8 years old...
